Service Description

Emergency Medical Responder (EMR) Course The Canadian Red Cross Emergency Medical Responder (EMR) course is a comprehensive, 120-hour training program designed to prepare participants with the knowledge and skills needed to respond effectively to medical emergencies. Trainees will learn patient assessment, CPR, AED usage, airway and breathing management, and how to care for patients in a wide range of medical and traumatic situations. This hands-on course emphasizes both theory and practical application, ensuring participants are confident in providing initial care and ongoing support in emergency scenarios. The EMR course is also the prerequisite for entry into the Primary Care Paramedic (PCP) program, making it an essential step for those pursuing a career in paramedicine. Course Entry Requirements Minimum age of 16 (19 recommended for employment/licensing purposes) Standard First Aid with CPR Level C (or higher) certification (within the last 2 years) Ability to physically perform required skills, including lifting, moving, and patient care scenarios Fluency in English (reading, writing, speaking) Government-issued photo ID
